Goodbye, Wisteria

Today Wisteria CF left the care of Craver Frams in the trailer of her proud new owner Kathy Busch. Along with her rode Enchante CF (Zachary x Velveteen by Sir). I am sad to see Wisteria go but I am very happy that Kathy is the one who has her now, because Kathy keeps her horses for a long time and takes great care of them. Wisteria leaves behind a colt and a filly, and I could not wish for more. I am also forever grateful to Charles and Jeanne Craver for having kept her at their place, after selling her to me, and having taken such good care of her over the past five years.

The day before, Javera Chelsea (Thane x HB Diandra by Mariner) and Dakhala Sahra (Plantagenet x Soiree by Sir) left Craver Farms to go to Tom and Jess Maiyer in Galion, Ohio, for embryo transfer.

  1. Lucky Kathy, to get such excellent mares! I will keep my fingers crossed for Chelsea and Sahra’s successful pregnancies…

  2. My heart is broken. Had I only known. Goodbye my beloved Wisteria. congratulations to Kathy. She has the most beautiful horse in the world.

  3. Well, I certainly didn’t see this coming, but that’s quite a foundation for any nascent Davenport breeding program. Good luck to all!

  4. Thank you, Edouard, for such kind words! Jane, you need not say goodbye, as my door is always open, and I will be passing on news and pics of this great mare. Ambar, we need to meet and talk about Port CF for the future.
Enchante CF is certainly a very fine mare and am so very pleased to have her here…
Edouard, I believe these embryo transfers from Sahra will work because you have believed in this mare so much!! And the same with Chelsea, as well!
Most of all, much thanks to Charles and Jeanne Craver for all of these fine arabians and the immense contribution of knowledge they have shared over the years and are still giving to all of us. I am so privileged to be apart of this adventure.

  5. Kathryn,
Thank you for your kind words. I will look forward to news of Wisteria and will keep you both in my thoughts and wish you all the best.

  6. Realy good luck with the ET, it is not easy but with a little luck, and the good wishes from al your Friends, and the noble cause it will be succesful

  7. Edouard,

Your statement surrounding Wisteria must have been very difficult, just as your action. She is perhaps one the finest of all the years of Craver Farms. Charles has always said, “she is what he envision as a Bedouins mare.”
For me, I had personally hoped she would be bred to Pulcher some day.

Needless, you as all others, have to do as one thinks best. I am sure she will be missed by Charles, especially, and those who visit Craver Farms.

Best with your new projects, Jackson

  8. Edouard,

Wisteria reminds me a lot of a mare I once knew, Rabanna.
I saw Rabanna many times at Richards. (Strange to think that they have the same DNA.)

Just an after thought and comment on a mare, then and now.

    Jackson
