Jackson’s stallion

I have always admired the bright bay horse pictured on Jackson Hensley’s Bedouin Arabians website (one photo below, with Jackson’s daughter), without knowing who the horse was. Jackson, as an artist, emphasizes the essence of the Arabian horse more than it’s official identity, and this is perhaps why he does not mention the names of his horses on his website.  I always thought this stallion was a nice combination of masculinity and sweetness, like a stag, or a male gazelle..

I just found out from a comment Jackson left below, that the horse is actually mine, one I own jointly with Darlene Summers, Monologue CF. I confess I felt a little out of touch.. but then again, I only saw Monologue twice, once at Pamela Klein’s and once at Craver Farms, where he is currently stationed.

  1. Monologue is standing on a slope in deep grass. A very sweet horse to some one who knows what they are doing. My daughter loved this horse and spent a lot of time with him. He was most unusual, in my mind, as one of a kind. Never prior had I seen any thing like him. Perhaps his son will be just as unusual.

When he left here it did leave an vacant space, yet he left with a mare that we felt should be bred by him. Times always question one’s reasons. I am glad Darlene Summers and Edouard jointly have him and he is at Charles
Craver’s and Jeanne’s. Charles has relayed many thoughts surrounding this horse. Both Morika and I miss him but life goes on and he is being replaced with a Krush son.

Foals for us are the life blood of what we are as owners/breeders of these horse, take away the foals and there is nothing.

Perhaps when one talks of type, and knowledge of type, one should realize, facts are always subject to change.
We had to, and DNA just slammed the door to any closed mind.

Oh well, I am glad Edouard that you have as does Darlene
one of my favorite all time Stallions.

  2. Actually Edouard, my son did the web site and misplaced the names, now some years ago. Also, about twenty other photo’s were misplaced for that web with names.

At one point I wanted to put earlier horses also.

Now I can not, as I destroyed all the earlier
photo’s, letters, etc. with a move. Decided that so much of what happen prior needed to be dismissed. Hundreds of documents, letters, pedigrees, and countless photo’s. Some photo’s of early davenports mailed to me years back. ( not by other breeders, family’s of the horses. )

I felt so much of what I had was private, and I decided to keep it such. As to the mention of Monologue, I did this with my sense of humor, weird. Mostly the photo’s of that horse do not capture the horse as he is in reality.

He was very much a part of us, so he just stayed on the web. Perhaps someday I will put the offspring and others not shown. (Actually I doubt it.)

You are right in what you said about me, then there is Morika. I know she wanted the enlarge web, names, and comments. I showed her your posting, she was pleased and surprised. She loves her horses, graduates from High School in a few months. Time goes on. JMH

  3. I am sort of new to Arabians, I know of them, but I have fallen in love with the Asil/Desertbred Arabians. I would like to bred Asil/Desertbreds,but where do I start, what strains should I focus on? I like Krayaan Dilmun of Pearl Island Stud UK , Mon Amir BWA (Sheykh Obeyd) of Whisper Winds Arabians and Masada El Shahwan of Brandywine Arabians of the USA. Can you point me in the right direction on choosing a strain to work with and how to find breeding stock?

    1. Michelle, for starters, what do you want to do with your horses? Answers can range between sitting on your deck and looking at them grazing in the pasture, to competing for endurance riding at a national level!
