New asil foals from around the world: Hungary

Laszlo Kiraly of Hungary has two colts this year, both sired by his stallion Dahhmany Bagdady (Wahhabit X Tisrina B by Salaa El Dine): the first, Shahhran Bagdady (below) was born on 5th of March, out of the Wahhabit daughter Shahhra (Wahhabit x 225 Sheherazade B by Ibn Galal III).

The second, Sulayman Bagdady is out of the Farag II daughter Soraya B (Farag II x 204 Ghalion) and was born on the 10th of April. Both colts are from the Kuhaylah al-Shaykhah line of 60-Adjuse, and combine old Babolna, Egyptian and Davenport bloodlines. Laszlo says little Sulayman moves like a dancer.

  1. Laszlo, they look like substantial little guys. The pedigree database is down for maintenance right now. So do they both go to Sig Bag 6 on both sides of their pedigree?

  2. Thank You Patrick,Jenny,Tzviah and Bruce. Both pictures was made on the first days. Both colts are more stronger this time. On the pedigreeside our goal was to collect so much blood of S.Bagdady VI.how much is possible. On the damside not only Wahhabit, but the background of both dam has more Siglavy Bagdady blood.

    Best wishes,Làszlo

  3. I agree with Ambar, the white paint brush was applied as if the painter was into modern art. I love it and hope we see more pictures of this youngster as he grows.

  4. Dear Lorrie and Ambar,

you have right, these markings are very rare. But don’t forget, these kind of horses collected Abbas Pasha fanatically. The granddam of this colt, 225 Seherezade had these dots and spots too.
We can see dots and spots here and there, but not usually.
I saw one example not long ago on the site of the Asil Club,in the article of Mathias Oster about the visit of the Asil Club delegation ( A Journey to the Origin
With the Asil Club to the Horses of Nejd)
Look at the O’bajan Saifi stallion, the asil saudi Shamlan. He has an interesting spot on the right back foot,on the splint bone area. This spot is on the cannon and separated from the white of the pastern. More interesting when you look the horse from the other side.
I have only one real problem with the first colt.Sorry,he will be a grey horse. But he carries the gens of these incedible coloration…..
    Best wishes ,

  5. Not to mention of course that the Blunts Mesaoud, basically their foundation stallion and as Abbas Pasha as ever Abbas Pasha was, also had little white spots scattered about his hide. And,one of the useful things Gladys Edwards did was to reveal this. The white,”roaning,” on Mesaoud comes out quite a bit in his descendants, but not necessarily in a predictable way. Lots of the CMK horses here in the U.S. have literaly hundreds of lines to Mesaoud by now

  6. Dear Anna, i saw the pictures. This colt grow up. Almost 5 years old, it’s time to be a sire. As the breeder of Suleiman I’m very happy to hear about this horse.I liked him always as a little colt. He Had a nice character. I remember he was made always a dance about his mother on the pasture.
Where will be staying? I heard you’re a swiss citizen.Suleiman will stanying also there ?!
This horse has a really very rare pedigree.
I wish the best for you and for Suleiman too. And many many broodmares…

  7. Dear arabian horse breeders,

I know Laszlo has been looking for the mare 9 Farag II (Farag II x 220 Ibn Galal I) several years ago. Unfortunately the mare deceased a years ago. The interresting fact is, that her daughter Fatima S (Golden Crown x 9 Farag II) is in the hands of my friend. She is 23 years old and is still going well.

My question is, whether Fatima S is interresting to be bred to some of Laszlos stallions? She is by 100% Crabbet stallion.

We know, these lines are really rare, and we don’t want to make the wrong decision, before it is too late.

Please share your thought with us, especially we would appreciate Laszlo Kiraly opinion.

  8. Dear Mitja,

it is my honor to ask for my opinion. Yes, I tried to save the remained old asil Babolna lines and collected the asil mares of the Damline of 60 Adjuze.
9 Farag II was also a brillant example of this population and I’m sorry I couldn’t find her. I’m afraid, she had no asil foals…. but please write me privately through e-mail:

    Best wishes,
    László
