  1. Like many great moving Arabs the grey Saqlaawys’ extended trot is so correctly performed that his extended trot is done without going stiff in the back. This is much like the old fashioned Morgan ,’ road trot,’ seen in the Currier and Ives prints. The present day show system extended trot derived from the dressage shows is often done with the horse going stiff in the back and consequently flicking his legs. The stiffness will ultimately produce lameness. Because this horses legs are still underneath his body- even in extension, he will most likely stay sound. Boy do I wish we had him here in the west.
