Wahhabit, Asil tail male Siglavy Bagdady

This asil 1977 stallion, Wahhabit, is by Siglavy Bagdady VI, a Babolna stallion, out of Delicate Air (Laertes x June), a Davenport mare. I had not seen this picture before.

  1. The Krush stallion,Wahhabit had a very unique pedigree with the best desert Babolna imports on the sire side and pure Davenport blood on the dam side.
Our breeding-program is based partly on Wahhabit’s children. We breeding among others with the stallion Dahhmany Bagdady (2001.By Wahhabit and out of Tisrina by Salaa El Dine)and the mares, Shahhra (2001. Wahhabit x 225 Seherezade B)and S.B. Mabrouka ( 1996. Wahhabit x Mabrouk-1 by Mabrouk.

    1. Dear Jens, I am happy you got in touch. Coincidentally, I have been wondering about you during the past week. The memory of your trip to Syria remains alive, and your book is a reference there.

  3. Jens, what a coincidence that you replied, as I had just been thinking about trying to contact you to find out about the mare Ajibah for the Al Khamsa Preservation Task Force documents (as you are still listed as her owner in the Datasource.) She is the only horse I have listed as a descendant of Wahhabit that ever made it into the Al Khamsa Roster. What a gem to see that she is still alive and well.

  4. Dear Jens, I’m glad to hear from you. I still keep the series of pictures I got from you about Ajibah. Se has a very interesting pedigree, a Saudi Hamdani mare family plus Siglavy Bagdady sire. Really unique.

    Best wishes,

  5. Dear Moira,
I knew Wahhabit very well .It wasn’t a show beauty, but there was something primordial in its appearance. Not many asil foals were born after him,

I tried a lot but managed to breed five asil Wahhabit foals, three of which are still alive today.
Among them is an asil stallion who is true, to be 20 years old, but enjoys excellent health. A tiny piece of Bábolna’s historical heritage, the asil sireline of Siglavy Bagdady is still living….

    Best wishes,

    László

    1. László,

Is there an email address that I might be able to correspond privately with you? I’d love to ask you a little bit more about your Wahhabit horses!
