Noteworthy that the trot is so dismissed, I have always considered canter THE Arab gait….. yet in in hand showing it is all about the trot, I wish they would all start showing a real trotting breed such as Welsh Cobs and leave Arabs to be ridden !!!:)

Yes, I believe the 1918 stud book has the earliest official breed standard in the American sources. Homer Davenport’s book and articles include earlier descriptions of the Arabian, but I’m assuming that’s not what you mean by a written breed standard.
