Dahjani Al Arab, asil Kuhaylan Da’jani stallion in Syria
Yesterday Arnault Decroix sent me this photo of his Syrian stallion Dahjani al-Arab, a Kuhaylan Da’jani born in the Syrian Jazirah (Upper Mesopotomia) in 2008.
Dahjani al-Arab was part of the same batch of Syrian imports to France in 2009. The lot also included the stallions Mahboub Halep (a Shuwayman Sabbah); Dahess Hassaka (a Kuhaylan Nawwaq); Nimr Shabareq (a Ma’naqi Sbayli); Shahm (a Ubayyan Sharrak, who sadly died soon after the importation and was the best of the lot, in my opinion); and Meliar Halab (a Kuhaylan Krush), as well as the mare Rafikat al-Darb (a Shuwaymah Sabbah).
For years I overlooked Dahjani al-Arab on this blog, and highlighted other imports like Mahboub, Dahess and Nimr, because I had some doubts about his Kuhaylan Da’jani tail female. Today, after a decade of follow up, I was able to access first-hand evidence of the authenticity of this strain. I will elaborate further in a next entry. Dahjani al-Arab is and always was, an asil Arabian horse
Wow! Shoulders and legs like I haven’t seen. His shoulders are at least as good as Sid Abouhom whish is really saying something.. How come the French Asil breeders get such fabulous horses to safe haven and we in the u.s. don’t? Also his overall body balance is quite good as well- no falling on his forehand and overburdening his front legs.

Great news!! Thanks Edouard!
The best news is that he has frozen semen !!!
He has frozen semen. i just have to check with Eurogen and Equitechnique if it is ok to USA. If not I could arrange new analysis. I will revert next week with possibilities.
Re: frozen semen: it is already ok for Europe. Extension to USA and other countries will be done for May 2021.
How exciting! Thank you for making sure that he is available to overseas breeders!
Thks. I will keep you here fully posted on step by step.
Fantastic, Arnault!!
Dahjani arrived this morning at Equitechnique Corbon in Normandy; the same place where were Mokhtar and Hussam Al Shammal, few years ago, but unfortunately without any succes. Semen have been collected this morning for analysis. Result will be known on Wednesday.
Semen have been frozen today with fertility at 75%. Sample will be thawed next Tuesday in order to check the good quality of conservation. First possibility for dispatching are planned after full battery of analyzes for export to USA and for large export in general on half May.
Several samples have been thawed today. 48% of semen are alive with good mobility which is a very good result. Analysis for métrite, artherite and anémie are negatives as well as scid ca, so frozen semen is schedulled to be available for middle May.
This is very good news. Thank you!
Dahjani will be back home next monday. Every analysis and tests are ok. Possibility of frozen semen export is schedulled to be available at Equitechnique France starting from May the 8th.
Confirmation that frozen semen will be available on May the 8th
That is excellent news!
