This is Zaarour Al Barary by Ihsan Al Thani out of Halah. Bred by Mustafa.
Halah is the Kuhaylah al-Mimrah in the post: “Horses of Mustafa Al-Jabri: 2”. So this one is Basil’s younger brothrer. He died a few years back.
He has a distant line to Al Aawar which does not appear in the Syrian studbook: his sire Ihsan Al Thani is a son of Barakeh and Mahrous. Barakeh is the daughter of the Hamdani Simri of Lawfan al-Hadi (al-Jarba) himself a son of Al Aawar. A lot of Syrian horses trace to Al Aawar without this showing in the studbook. He is often hidden under the generic name “Hamdani Ibn Ghorab, Shammar”.
Edouard I know you are now traveling but I’m just curious to who this horse is. Identify at your convenience. I am wondering if he traces to Al Awaar.

This horse is the sire of Mahboub Halab now in France, and took over from Al Aawar and Dahess and head stallion at Radwan Shabareq’s stud in Aleppo.
He is also the sire of Nimr Shabareq. The picture above shows him as a young three year old.
Très sérieux, semble être bon reproducteur vu ses deux fils : Mahboub Alep et Nimr Shabareq, qui semblent lui être supérieur.
