Mahboub Halep in 2020
This horse is magnificent. He looks better and better with age and more like his paternal great grand sire, the Kuhaylan Nawwaq of ‘Iyadah al-Madi, a son of Krush Juhayyim.

Very nice stallion. It will become possible to breed to him with the new and upcoming sperm extender.

That would be fantastic, if possible! He’s been a favorite of mine since I saw the photo of his head peeking out from the trailer when he arrived in France.
I recommend opening the photo in a new window to see him in full glory. What a handsome horse.
Bassam. That method requires having several fertiles mares available at the same time to put all chances on his side having only two weeks of viability of the sperm: collection, transport, customs and health formalities, insemination, included.
arnault you are correct, the breeding will successful with group effort and multiple cycling mares.
Also, 2 or more collections / doses will increase chances and split the cost among owners.
Bassam, I wager that the success of the extender would have something to do with the stallion’s overall quality of sperm, too. Some stallions just have better quality sperm that lasts longer, and some stallions just don’t last that long post ejaculation. I am excited, nevertheless, to see this 2-week extender come on the market. It would absolutely revolutionize international breeding. And I do think this is something that would be worthwhile to coordinate here in the US. Keep me in mind when/if you/someone else decides to do just this!
