Mista-Bin, 1958 Saqlawi Jadran stallion
This is the first time I see a decent picture of this stallion, who is in the pedigree of two mares I have leased. They really have the same body shape as him.

oh boy I really really like him. I can see his presence just in this tiny grainy photo.
he looks less good in this photo:

He’s also behind Polynesia LD, than which one would be hard pressed to find a more impressive mare.
i saw her at Carol Lyons in 2003, and i think i have a photo somewhere..
Obviously, I’m behind in this. I had his dam and her full sister at my ranch in Hemet for about a year. These were small, good bodied mares with very plain heads, so Hallany Mistanny really improved that aspect. I owned the Hallany Mistanny daughter out of the full sister to Bint Hamida, Haraka, and she looked nothing like Mista-bin. I have several photos of her. I got one foal from her, by Ansata El Sherif, and couldn’t keep her cleaned up enough to rebreed her again. A great shame, because these horses were very scarce and precious and much like the horses with *Turfa in them, were wonderful animals which were discarded for all the hype about the so-called straight egyptian.
I love to see the natural presence and self carriage that comes out of these bloodlines.
