New photo of 25-Amurath Sahib
Laszlo Kiraly sent me this head shot of the Babolna mare 25 Amurath Sahib, from the last asil female line from Babolna. The photo was never published before Laszlo’s recent article in the Khamsat magazine about the asil lines of Babolna.
Man o man!! There’s everything- long ears, flexible nostrils, deep, deep, deep jowls, fabulous eyes.. How can I get a copy of the Khamsat magazine. I wonder if 240, Kuhaylan 8 was an asil mare? Theres a gal here in oregon that has one of the last Hyannis Cattle company horses, and he’s got three lines to her, and the Amurath horses too.

Dear Bruce,
You mean 240 Koheilan VIII-5 , I think. Yes she was an asil mare from the damline of 74.Tiffle. She went to the U.S.A. with the best Babolna horses as a booty of the U.S.Army after the World War II. As far as I know, the line is died out in asil form.
This mare was one of my alltime favorites.

She looks like a using horse in addition to a beautiful horse, which is always wonderful to see. Thank you László for sharing!
Dear Moira,
25 Amurath Sahib was an exeptionel mare and had an adventurous life.
I was made a breeding program and spent about 20 years with her descendants.
All of them was fine,lovely,intelligent.
László
All of that and tifle too? wow! If I remember correctly wasn’t Tifle a Hamdany Simri? What an influential mare something like Rodania.. I wonder when she was imported to Babolna?
