Photo of the day: Farag II-3, in Germany

To celebrate the inclusion of the Babolna asil horses in the Al-Khamsa Roster, here is a photo of a stallion from these bloodlines, owned by Stephanie Weirich of Germany. This is the chestnut stallion Farag II-3 (by Farag II x 204 Ghalioun, by Ghalioun x 3-Siglavy Bagdady VI). He is also a tail female descendant of 25-Amurath Sahib, and is actually 50% Babolna (non-Egyptian) blood. Farag II-32His strain is Kuhaylan al-‘Ajuz. Photo courtesy of Tzviah Idan.

  1. Small correction by Stephanie. The correct name of the stallion is 212 Farag II-3, not 32.
    Best wishes,
    Tzviah

  2. Hello Edouard,

thanks for your welcome. First I have to say, that this is a very interesting site. I do not become tired, to look at it again and again and again 🙂

In January I found Farag´s sister Farag II-1 at a horsedealer in very bad condition. I bought her immediately and in the meantime she became a nice little princess and the boss of the herd although she is only 148 cm 🙂
She is from Farag II out of 238 Rajan, so she is a 75% sister to Farag II-3.
Since spring I try to get her in foal from Farag II-3, because of the concentration of the Amurath-line, but because of her bad status in the beginning of this year (and maybe long time before) it does not work till now 🙁
You can find more pictures and the pedigree on my website http://www.tierportraits.beep.de (klick on “Farag-Arabians” please).

    Kind regards
    Stephanie

  3. Wow, Stephanie, I just went to your site, and your horses are beautiful!

Best wishes for success with them, and with preserving the lines of Farag II-3 and Farag II-1!

  4. Dear Ms. Stephanie,
I was given a postcard of Farag II – 6.
I must admit my ignorance which is probably laughable, but I have never seen such amazing coloring for any horse before! When I was a kid I thought all horses had black hair (mane and tail) until I saw my first Palomino horse, and thought: “A Blonde Horse!”. I didn’t know there could be horses with what looks to be the equivalent of “strawberry blonde” coloring of mane and tail!
Farag II – 6 is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Is he (or she) one of your horses?
Again, PLEASE forgive my ignorance, I’m just an old city gal!

  5. A Straight Marbach Egyptian Arabian horse (SME) would be a horse that traces, in its bloodlines, to a combination of the 3 horses imported from Egypt in the 1955 and 1970.

    MARE:
    1) *Nadja (Nazeer x Nefisa)

    STALLIONS:
    1) *Hadban Enzahi (Nazeer x Kamla)
    2) *Gharib (Anter x Souhair)

IMPORTANT: For a horse to be considered STRAIGHT MARBACH EGYPTIAN, the horse must trace BACK to Tail Male Line of Hadban Enzahi or Gharib and in Tail Female Line to Nadja.

  6. Hi all together,
    Perhaps you can help me:
I’m searching Stephanie for more than 2 years.
Does anybody has contact with her?
Steffi: Bitte melde Dich. Ist wichtig!
    Best regards
    Anke
