Pretty Bedouin mare in the Naqab desert
Also from the collection of Jacques Edinger at the French Musee du Quai Branly — Jacques Chirac is this photo of a Bedouin leader and his beautiful mare from the Negev/Naqab desert around the city of Beersheba/Bi’r al-Sab’.
Note the prickled ears, the small muzzle, the protruding eye sockets and the broad, flat forehead on this beautiful desertbred horse.
She is so lovely. I love seeing the bridle with no bit and the single rein. This horseman had a good rapport with his war mare.
I know why that photo strikes such a chord: it is so close to the beautiful Raswan photo of Mahroussa (of Prince Mohamed Aly, Egypt). The sculpturing of the face is so similar.
Love her expression! She has such a pretty face!
Fabulous! Wide set eyes with room for brains.
