Shaman Al Arab at nearly three

Very happy with how Shaman is turning out (look past the winter coat ), and he is not three yet. I am inching closer towards the type of horses I want to see. I like them built like tanks, the stallions very masculine and the mares very feminine, all very dry and superlative movers. No to “living art”, no to “cute”, no to “extreme”. Yes to being a good horse first, before being an Arabian. Yes to irreproachable authenticity of bloodlines. Shaman will make a good stallion.

  1. Tank you want, tank you got in that boy. He is nicely balanced, good looking legs. Your efforts are paying off.

  2. And at only 3 his withers, already ample, are only going to get stronger and more pronounced!( none of this pony shouldered mutton withered stuff here)

  3. I love the long forearm and short cannon. Also love the length underneath versus the short back he should be able to move out well!

  4. So I have a question with his gazzillion and 99 lines to Mesaoud how were you able to avoid the splashy high white and basically spotted pinto like coat? For example theres a farm in canada with intensely bred mesaoud stock- tho also with crabbet and davenport pedigrees with more than a few red pintos.. They are also solid built old fashioned morgan like tank phenotypes too. how did that happen?

    1. He carries Gulastra 8 times through his dam, and many more times through his Crabbet sire, but his dam is a little-marked mostly Babson (and some Gulastra) liver chestnut mare.

Gulastra –> Julep –> Julyan –> El Reata Juan (from the sire, five times)
——————————–> Jusera (from his sire, once)
      ——————————–> Roman Jewel (ditto)
      ——————————–> El Reata Jussie (ditto)
Gulastra –> Gulida (from the dam, many times)
———–> Nusi (from the dam, many times)
