She-camel beauty queen
This she-camel recently won first prize in a regional Gulf beauty contest in the category of white camesl “al-wuduh”. I am increasingly interested in the production of camel beauty criteria in modern Arabia, because unlike Arabian horses, the lack of significant camel breeding in the West could mean that the codification of such criteria for camels may have taken place without Western influence.
Beautiful!
She is quite lovely.
Lovely, I just love camels.
As does our mare for that matter, she never shows in season to other horses, but I will never forget on the last day of our ride down the road from the hills into Aqaba we passed a compound with a lovely dark camel in , Hannah stopped and winked and drained as she never has to a horse… I could hardly persuade her to move on, she was smitten!!!
Ps re Western influences it still amazes and saddens me that the Emirati Sheikhs are so in thrall to the opinions of European and American ‘experts’ on the ARABIAN horse.
Utterly bizarre, but as you say the camel should be spared this nonsense.
There are more camels in Australia and most of them are wild.
