Danah Al Khalifa writes:
The Stud Stallion, Krushan Speckled, was out of the dam Krush El Araibi which was bred by the then Shaikh of Amara, Mohammed El Araibi. He had brought her as a tribute to Shaikh Sulman in the late 1940’s. Krush El Araibi was mated to Jellaby II Speckled, and foaled the colt Krushan in 1952. She was then sent to King Saud. While in Saudi Arabia she changed hands, until eventually in the early 1960’s she arrived back in Bahrain as a gift to Shaikh Isa – unbeknownst to the gift giver that she had left the island earlier. Shaikh Isa was very pleased to have old Krush back and kept her until she died of old age at Rufa Palace in 1976.

Oh! My! Goodness!
Kate McLachlan, exactly what I said when I say this! Thank you so much, Edouard, for taking the time to post all these wonderful photos of beautiful Bahraini horses!
It’s not me, it’s Wilton! You can also call him AHA (African Horse Archive) 😉
Please forgive me, Wilton Burger, for not noticing previously that it was you, not Edouard, that posted these photos from the Amiri Arabian Stud of Bahrain. Thank you.
No problem!! I SERIOUSLY don’t mind being mistaken for Edouard (even if it is only because the name of the person who posted is written in such small letters – I’ll take it!!)
Man, these really are some nice horses. Color me envious. And yes, thank you very much Wilton (not Edouard, not Wilbur :P) for posting these.
I’ll never live that story down, but at least it is a good one!!
Fabulous Wilton! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much, Wilton!! I have been looking for photographs of these earlier horses to accompany Bahraini files in the Al Khamsa database, and this is just great!
Thank you so much for these. My favorite is Shawafa no. 60 totally can see her in my barn. I pray for it.
