A photo of the Kuhaylan al-Krush stallion Mokhtar when he was in Syria
Basil Jadaan recently postly this beautiful photo of Mokhtar, the desert bred Kuhaylan al-Krush stallion from Syria, which Basil owned for several years before sending him to France.
Lovely balanced horse. Looks like a Davenport. USA needs one stallion like him.
Thank you Edouard for finding and sharing this photo. When I saw Mokhtar at Basil Jadaan’s he was in his prime, 9 years old, and I stood breathless as he moved so swiftly, and powerfully around his paddock without ever missing a step. He was so agile!!! All I could think of at the time was to imagine what it would be like to be galloping on his back across the desert at speed! He left an indelible image on me.
I am trying to imagine how the resulting foal from Babson/Davenport mare and Mokhtar will look like?
Very good question! i am wondering why those crossings have not been done in France …
especialy with Babson as Chantal Chekroun owns Babson mares
