Well, she was bred by Jeanne Craver. By Sir (Tripoli x Dharebah) and out of Sirrulya (Julyan x Sirrula). She would be 30 years old now. Jeanne graciously allowed her to come down here to be a part of my Sirecho breeding program. I tried for several years, but could never get her in foal. The vets could not find any obvious reason.
I had a couple of ladies here looking at the horses, and they fell in love wih the older mares. So, Soiree and old Dahriefa (Bred by Mrs. JE Ott and was by Dahrecho (Sirecho x Dahma Al Zarka) and out of Zariefa (Zarlan x Blue List)) went to live about 45 minutes away. Dahriefa was 5 years older than Soiree.
They tried AI-ing Soiree, but had no luck getting her in foal either. I am thinking Charles had said she had never been put under saddle, but the lady who took her began riding her regularly!
Several years later, I sold Altair Al Krush (Straight Davenport stallion bred by Kim Davis and by Janub Al Krush and out of Naufali Al Krush) to the lady next door to her. A friend who fell in love with the old mares.
Sadly, I lost track of Soiree and Dahriefa after Katrina. That whole area was washed away and many didn’t come back. But Altair is happily residing over his small band as his owner rebuilds.
Soiree was a nice size. Balanced. Certainly showed her Davenport breeding in my mind! She was one of those that stayed to herself and her pasture buddy. Not much foolishness about her.
I have always enjoyed sharing my many Al Khamsa Arabian photos! You are welcome to post any of them.
Jennifer Keys, Soiree and Dakhala Sabiq had the same dam and their sires (Sir and Prince Hal, respectively)were full brothers. Therefore, they were pretty darn close to full siblings.
That is Soiree and that is my photo, taken at my farm.
Wow.. can you tell us more about her? I love everything about this mare. and also, do you mind her photo being posted here?

SO you think they both died during hurricane Katrina? What a pity! Dahriefa was another favorite of mine. What’s left from either?
I will do some looking… I know Dahriefa has a good following.
No, they didn’t both die. The owners took them and moved! One of many that decided not to come back. I wouldn’t have either.
Dahriefa was a lovely mare. It was a privilege to know her.
So, this is sister to Dakhala Sabiq, and thus my horse’s aunt. Looks like my girl. Were they full siblings? I’m not clear yet on Sabiq’s sire.
