Kibriya Niskhkur, 1994 asil Kuhaylan Mimrah stallion in South Africa

Through Pienaar Du Plessis in South Africa come these photos of the asil 1994 Kuhaylan Mimrah stallion Kibriya Nishkur (Sidi Abu Khai x Sidi Mabruka by Raafek), a sire of endurance winners in this country, with an improbable nine crosses to Morafic, and two close crosses to the 1955 Bahraini stallion Tuwaisaan of Valerie Noli-Marais.

This horse is a case study in the change a small infusion of desert blood can do to Egyptian lines. Notice the big flat bone, and the muscle neck, the high withers and muscular croup characteristic of the Bahraini horses and of the old Kuhaylan Mimrah line of Barakah from Manial stables. Most Egyptian horses with nine crosses to Morafic don’t look so masculine.

  1. Not so masculine- and able to engage their hindquarters.. Look how he’s stepping across and under his navel. That’s how you teach classical dressage collection. And he’s already doing it..It just points up the need for intelligent egyptian breeders to get with the program and beg borrow or steal some Bahrainy semen or just as good some from the few Tahawy asils if it’s available..

  2. This horse is pure perfection to me !! Now this an Arabian horse and i would ride him in a battle anytime ^^

  3. Good for you, never been there but everybody that has visited SA wants to move there. Are your horses moving along?

They imported very interesting asil horses from Egypt and elsewhere to which they added newer bloodlines from America & Europe in, all very ride-able horses.

There was a couple of days ago an interesting post from Nabilah Arabians in “Photos and History of the Straight Egyptian Arabian Horse” on their original imports including Zad al-Rakib (fantasy horse?) and Zahir (what a horse he must have been …)

Visiting studs of old lines, drinking good wines and amazing venison on the BBQ … enjoy, you only live once!

  4. Hi you all.
I am glad to see this topic of the horse Kibriya Nishkur. He has passed away years ago but he was never used on an Asil mares so no Asil descendants. But luckily semen was saved of him and I manage to get hold of it for the purpose of saving the genes for the Asil horse. I tried insemination this season with 3 mares but it was unsuccessful at he time and will try again using different expert service next season. He wa exceptional and ambassador for the Asil Arabian horse, hold thumbs for me to get my mares pregnant.

  5. Good for you Hamman. Good luck with the semen. Do you know is his sister is still alive? Tirak Miraka in Namibia?

  6. The whole of our preservation community is sending you good luck for getting your mares pregnant with this wonderful stallion’s legacy.
