… is this picture of Faziza (Fa Turf x Azyya by Kenur out of *Aziza), the half Saudi, half Egyptian Arabian mare exported by Krausnicks to W.G. Olms of Germany. The picture is from Foppe Klynstra book, “Nobility of the Desert”.

I have always loved mares with their foals. There are of course exceptions, but every mare group I’ve had an opportunity to look after has been so community minded, and I didn’t have nearly the kinds of problems with mares as I did with the geldings and even stallions. Faziza is a lovely mare; I think I have a copy of this photo saved in my Arabian file folder of horses to admire, and her dam was equally as lovely – big-bodied, yet delicate, with gentle, attentive expressions.
Almost a mirror image of the photo of Moth (Tripoli x Maedae) with Major Barbara by Kamil Ibn Salan as a foal. It pulled me into Davenport bloodlines, even before my marriage to Charles. It was that photo.

Do you know who the foal in the photo is?
Is the foal
Hm, can’t seem to edit that comment. Strike the “Is the foal” from the record.

Oh, gosh, Jeanne, do you have a copy of that photo of Moth and Major Barbara?
This is such a perfect picture <3
