Photo of the day: Cataree, asil Kuhaylat al-Krush mare in the USA
This mare, Cataree (Mandarin CF x Minaret CF by Heir Apparent), is a Kuhaylat al-Krush of Davenport bloodlines, tracing to the mare *Werdi imported by Homer Davenport from Syria in 1906. She was presented at the 2007 Al Khamsa Convention in California. Photo by Christine Emmert.
She has the same strength through the body as Indie Star, owned by Dave and Bonnie Duecker of Lightning Rod Ranch. Star is also a Krush by Mandarin. These horses look like they could do High School work with ease.
Best Wishes

Krush
Most of the krush that I have known and bred have a high crest and a more upright neck. This allows a head that is tucked and beautifully set when ridden. I prefer the higher crest that alot of the krush show, the reality is,
one will realize a horse very much in front, collection is given early in training. The lower set crest is not to often found with the krush, yet it does happen.
For the most part they, the krush, are able to get well under.
Their heads are some of the most extreme.
Large oriental eyes.
I once told another, who came to visit many years back, my horses know their names and will come when called.
Yes, what a risk!
At that moment it was raining, yet, I called, the mare left the barn looking for me. She was a friend, most likely a better friend then I. Yet, over the years many of these friends have called for I. Only to visit in their own way. Asar called me the most, just wanting company. There are many stories to tell of family, friends, and the horses.
That is why I liked the movies that Edie Booth provided Edouard. Her family……………….
We all forget who we can be, to the horse we can be their living treasure and friend.
