Power outage
I just emerged from more than three days of power outage due a record setting snow storm that buried the Washington area under 30 inches of snow. I lost my telephone and internet connection last Friday night and did not get it back until this morning. I apologize to those of who wrote and were expecting a response during these few days, and particularly to the ladies at the Association du Cheval Arabe Bedouin (ACAB) in France. I have promised them a short article for their upcoming catalogue, which is going to press soon. So I am getting back to work on it now.
Wow, I am amazed you survived that with those two beautiful children. We send our admiration!
So sorry to hear this Edouard. Glad to hear things are getting back in order. We are in the middle of a big snow storm which is predicted to only bring about 10-12 inches but if high winds follow we will not be going anywhere for awhile. Hopefully we will not loose power but at least we can burn wood for heat.
Best to you.
So sorry to hear this Edouard. Glad to hear things are getting back in order. I hope you all kept warm. As I write this we are in the middle of a big snow storm which is predicted to only bring about 10-12 inches but if high winds follow we will not be going anywhere for awhile. You may recall it is a long driveway from our home to the road so if we get high winds the drive will seal shut. Only a horse can escape or possibly our jeep. I have an old Sleigh but Saamir is not broke to pull it. Hopefully we will not loose power but at least we can burn wood for heat. Sometimes blizzards can temporarily knock our our internet service here.
Best to you.
Thanks Edouard!
Hope the weather is better!
So glad you are up and running again. I keep checking for the newest thoughts you have to post! Keep Warm. RLw
Hi Edouard,
Just catching up after a month with a fried computer (this one’s new), and a hacking cough that made me sound as if I were auditioning for La Boheme on a daily basis. Am really writing about Jeanne’s reference to two children. Congratulations! Pictures? Am making great progress with Mandour and promise pics when the weather improves. We are once again snow bound with snow falling now for three days straight (though not always heavily.) No power losses (yet) and I heat with wood, but I did have frozen water pipes for 3 days–something I thought I’d left behind in Vermont. I study a little French every night in hopes of being able to understand our French bloggers. 🙂 Am enjoying catching up. As always it’s an extreme pleasure.
Elena
thanks for the nice note Elena. The second kid is actually my wife’s but he lives with us, and i am his daddy for all practical purposes..
