Saraly El Shahin, 1994 asil Hamdaniyah Simriyah
Saraly El Shahin (Ansata Aly Jamil x Saree by Salaa El Dine out of Selmah by Shakhs out of Sappho by Bleinheim) is, at 24 years old, one of the most precious asil mares in Europe. She is with Laszlo Kiraly in Hungary. One of the very last asil mares of the precious strain of Hamdani Simiri, tracing to the mare Selma of Abbas Pasha, she has a predominantly Egyptian pedigree, with the addition of two of the desert bred stallions of the Courthouse Stud, in England, Nimr and Fedaan. She has a three year old daughter, which is not currently in a preservation program.
The daughter needs to be in a preservation program, no matter who her sire is. And who is her sire?
Oh, wow, it’s always surprising to see that some of the Courthouse lines survived, considering how sparingly HVMC seemed to breed his horses.
The daughter isn’t Salome Hamdaniya, is it? By Feysul El Hamza?
She is a very attractive mare, with a lovely face. The inclusion of the Courthouse bloodlines in her ancestry is so very precious – they are vanishingly rare these days. I do hope the daughter finds her way to a preservation program!
The sire of the three year old daughter is Feysul El Hamza, from the Bint Kareem tail female.

Saraly’s daughter, the bay Salome Hamdaniya turn four years old in March. Her new owner in Italy knows the rarity of this strain, and I believe, he will make a preservation program with her. As far as I know, the first partner was planned the german-born S.E., Asil Club/ Al Khamsa accepted stallion, Ghamin. https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/ghamin2As . Ghamin is an elegant chestnut, who was succesful as an endurance horse and also on the race track. As a show horse he was reserve champion, and in the dressage up to highest level, class S. Ghamin has an exeptional 1.59 m high at the withers. This horse in the hope will add a little bit taller descendant, because Salome is a relative small mare.
One more important little thing: Salome is running also very very fast.

This photo was taken by Gudrun Waiditschka in 2017 at Babolna Stud, where Saraly was “guest” for some month, because she was covered the Halim Shah I.-son, Nadeem B.
Saraly wasn’t pregnant, just as she did in previous years.
This year I will try it again,
with another stallion….

Oh, that’s very exciting news! And after looking him up, Ghamin seems not just to be a versatile horse in his own right, but a sire of athletic horses too. Fingers crossed for future beautiful foals from Salome!
Ah, good, I thought it was Salome Hamdaniya. Good look with getting Saraly bred again. Those older mares can be such a challenge sometimes.
