SS Lady Guenevere, 2006 Ma’naqiyah Sbayliyah mare
I have recently leased the Ma’naqiyah Sbayliyah mare SS Lady Guenevere (SS Dark Prince x SS Lady Galadriel by El Reata Juan), from DeWayne Brown. She is Pippa’s dam. Photo by Lyman Doyle
She was bred to Kashgar DE during her last heat cycle, and came back in heat this week. Terry and Lyman Doyle, who are keeping her at their farm for me, bred her to their stallion Tamaam DE.
The sireline of both Kashgar and Tamaam are to Ghadaf to Ribal to Seyal then Mesaoud. Her sire line is to Gulastra to Astraled then Mesaoud. Gulastra and Ghadaf were maternal half brothers.
Like, like, like.
Fantastic!
What is the status of Pippa?
Pippa is in foal
Congratulations, Edourard! I’m excited for you, this will be a fantastic foal!
Thank you! I cannot tell you how much I love this line. If I could, I would only breed that line.
Looks like you didn’t finish your post. But congratulations! Fingers crossed for two successful foalings for 2020!
Congratulations and I look forward to these foals! I also have been long impressed (over and over and over) by this tail-female mare line. I first saw it in 1984 at the 1984 New Jersey AK Convention. Back then, Pamela Weidel’s Boxwood Farm had really interesting AK horses, but of the whole convention, the mare I remember best from that trip is Sirrulya. She was stunning, and now that I’m older, I’d pay a ransom to see her Plantagenet granddaughters from Soiree. I only visited Craver Farms a few times, but on my first trip, kindly hosted by Charles & Jeanne: OH — the daughters of Plantagenet: Cinnebar CF, Piquante CF, night and day different yet SO appealing in every way. What a sire. I still see Charles riding him into the core herd of mares, he was just a machine: calm and all business. I digress, back to Drissula’s line: the more I saw of this line, even mostly top-crossed with old or new Egyptian — it didn’t matter, as it just kept producing superb individuals. We hosted the mare DU Natasha in 1985 when she came to our stallion RG Joshua. I hope I get to see these foals with all that Ghazieh (AP) stacked up in there. We had a colt born this year where we also stacked up this female line, mostly through Zaafarana, *Maaroufa, Fay-El-Dine & Shahloul. Best wishes in your efforts!
I owned the daughter of Plantagenet and Soiree, called Dakhala Sahra. She was bred by Jeanne Craver, and she was hands down the best mare I ever owned.
Fingers crossed for a successful breeding, and for a beautiful sibling to Pippa!
RE: Pippa in foal
To which stallion? I must have missed that.
RE: I would only breed this line
Perhaps that is what you should concentrate on now Edouard. As you’ve long told the rest of us you can’t save them all. You should breed what makes your heart sing. JMHO
She is in foal to Tamaam DE. Kashgar did not settler her.
