Wadha this afternoon
So yesterday and today I went up to Pennsylvania to see my horses, and Jeannie Lieb met me there. I learned a lot from Jeannie about proper nutrition and hoof care, and I took hundreds of photos of my horses — with the iPhone unfortunately. Still, many are not that bad.
Here are a couple of Wadha. Click on them to enlarge them.
Wadha, born in 2010, is by Javera Thadrian out of Wisteria CF, by Triermain CF. They are three of my four favorite Davenport Kuhaylan Hayfis.
Wadha is now being trained with the lounge; she has learned to lead, trot and canter, and just had a saddle put on her.
I joined Edouard in PA specifically to see Wadha so I could advise on nutrition as the data I had on her speaks to her being an insulin resistant horse. The insulin resistant (if left untreated) metabolic syndrome leads to laminitis which leads to the importance of the mechanics of the hoof. I am happy to share my 15+ years of knowledge and background in these areas but I will leave it up to Edouard if he want so start a specific thread in his blog for this.
As for Wadha, lots of promise there as both a durable and SMOOTH riding horse.
She looks very much like her beloved mother, Wisteria. She has grown in beauty and elegance. So happy to see a picture of her. Thank you Edouard.
Glad to see the mare is doing well. Her mother is one of the truly grey ones! Hope all is well and she gives you many foals! Maybe a possible sire in the future, Pulcher Ibn Reshan?
Best of days, Jackson
Wadha is now being ridden!
Congratulations on the under saddle work! That will help her a lot.
Wadha would be honored to have Pulcher and vice versa!
