Introducing new guest blogger: “Pure Man”

I am honored to introduce “Pure Man” as the latest addition to the growing list of the “Daughter of Wind” guest bloggers. Of all the distinguished ladies and gentlemen who have contributed (and still contribute for some) to this blog from time to time, “Pure Man” is the one I know least. In fact, I know about him just as much as most of you do.

I know that he is a citizen of the Kindgom of Saudi Arabia, that he breeds desert-breds (real ones, not Egyptians labeled as “desert Arabians” for marketing purposes), and that he hails from the one of the largest, most noble and most powerful Bedouin tribes of Najd. I know he has the courage and the intellectual honesty to speak his mind, and that he is a straight shooter. I know that he comes from a civilization _ the Bedouin civilization – where being politically correct is certainly less valued than being honest and true to ones beliefs.

His name and the name of his tribe will not be disclosed here, to protect him, unless he chooses otherwise. His opinions – and I do not necessarily agree with all of them — and his style have ruffled the feathers of some, and angered others, including powerful people in his own country. This is done so he can continue to speak his mind freely.

“Pure Man” brings the “Voice of the East” to this blog – the Bedouin East. He is an invaluable asset to those among us, inlcuding myself, who wish to better understand the mindset of the people who were the first custodians of this breed of horse we are enamored with. By this, I don’t mean to say that he speaks for all the Bedouins of Arabia. His opinions on the breed may differ from that of other Bedouins. But he will certainly bring us one step closer to the Arabian horse in its original environment, which is one of the purposes of this blog.

Another purpose is to use the Arabian horse as a bridge between East and West, between different locations, different cultures, different world perspectives. This requires an effort from both sides. But it’s an effort well worth making. So, welcome, pure man.

PS: I will be translating your emailed posts, from Arabic to English, and posting them under your name.

the Ma’anaghy is not from Al Khamsa (the five Horses) and unknown parentage

it is Arabian Horses But is not allowed for breding

  5. no any stallion for breding We must See the bedigree And it must be Without a doubt no Ma’anaghy blood no any Weak strain

  10. I respect your opinion on Managhis even if I don’t share it.

But you need to tell us, where this opinion comes from. Is it from the books of Raswan, because I don’t trust him, or is from the Najd Bedouins?

  11. It is not from our horses .It is from the north not from Najd
the Bedouins Like Shammar tribe and Anazah tribe they Found Managhis and Other horses In the north .It is Called the Northern.they are Did not bring from najd to the north.
Because no one can Say was originally In the past from Najd horses
and These horses did not have prove it is Kuhaylah It is not known Where Come

the Najd Bedouins Not allowed to breeding
    from the Northern horses (stallion)

  12. Who is breeding
from the stallion of Managhis and jelfa and Makladih and Dajani and another.

Abbas Pasha he Did not breed the stallion of Managhis and another
and How come the stallion of Managhis Mixed the blood to Egyptian Arabian horses it is come from stallions of Lady Anne Blunt .Because Egyptian people Imported 18 stallions from Lady Anne Blunt horses.

  13. There are two Arabian horses types

1- on Type is allowed to Used his stallions for breeding thes Called pure horses Sometimes Comes not beautiful and not fast it is good the blood Like all Kahilah

2-another Type not allowed to Used his stallions for breeding Only Used his mares for breeding thes Called al mardih or Alqreif Sometimes Comes a beautiful and fast Better than pure horses thes Like Managhis and another

  14. Any Arabian horse did not her history Start in the past from Najd horses it is not pure horses But you can breeding his mares Only and do not Used his stallions .

Should be the Owners of Egyptian horses and Polish horses they do not her stallions Because Mixed blood it is Not on Bedouins Traditions

they Should Find stallions another asil Line

  15. Dear Pure man. As you talk about Abbas Pacha in regards to Ma’anaghi, allow me to quote
Mohammed Pacha,in the book of Louis Mercier, “Mo’annaqiya family belong to Koheilet El Ajuz from the Beni-Modlij and Tijariyat.”
“In Syria Exists Arabian horses nammes Hidaba divided in 5 branchs: Mo’annaqiya – Da’anajiya – Jo’eïtiya – Foreïja.
    those branchs also subdivided by
    El Jalfy which gave Sa’d-et-Tuqan, El-Roceiny – El Roteimy – El’ajamy.
    Mo’annaqiya gave Mo’annaquiyet-es-Sobeïny.

  16. Mohammed Pacha, quoted in the book of Mercier, is the son of Emir Abdelkader. He published a book in Beyrut and Stanbul on 1907, named “Nokbat iqd al ajiyad fi safinat ajjiyad” Nothing to do with Abbas Pacha and egyptian breeding…

  17. According to Mohammed Pacha, Al Khamsa mares gave lineages as follow:
“Ec-ceqlawiya, El Judran’s mare, gave: El Wabiriya, Nejmet-eç-çobh, el Mri’iya, El Qamiciya.”
    “Umm’arqub gave: Asiky.”
“Suweïma, Es-Sebbak’s mare, gave: El Kobeïsa.”
    “Koheïla, El-Ajuz’s mare, gave: Ras-El-Fedawi, Et-Tamiry, El-Janub, El-Mo’arif, El-Mendil, El-Moçny, El-Meshud, En-Na’am,
    Es-Serif, El-Akras, El-Mokalladiya, Hamdan-Es-Samiry, Et-Tuwaïsiya, Weddnat-El-Koreïs, El-Mo’annaqiya, El-Hadradjiya, El-Joreïba, Umm’amir.”
“‘Obeïa, Es-Serrak mare, gave Umm Joreïç, El-Kadir, Hedbat-El-Basir.”

  20. Mohammed Ali Pacha What did he sayed in his Book About al Zahra they were breeding
from the Thoroughbred stallions .When they knowed the horse Lost Some characteristics they Given a stallions and colts to Police and he didnot Writed About Foals What happened were is them.
and they Search for asil stallions they can not Find Inside and al Zahra Imported 18 stallions from Lady Anne Blunt horses and from Inshass Stud two stallions .thes Mohammed Ali Pacha sayed in his Book

  21. Note that Mohammed Pasha son of Emir Abdel Kader al-Jazairi, is different from Prince Mohammed Ali Tewfik Pasha of Egypt (Manial). Both wrote books about Arabian horses though.

  22. wow, you guys are phenomenol, and i will keep reading for my knowledge, i have 2 mares and a filly that i will try to keep pure all i can…thanks for your info…
