New online pedigree database

I found an interesting online database of Arabian horse pedigrees, which includes “all Arabians bred by Wilfred Blunt, Lady Anne Blunt, Lady Wentworth, Cecil Covey between 1878 – 1971”. It seems serious, and is perhaps based on access to the Blunts’ various studbooks. I am going to use it.

  1. My guess is that it’s based on Arabian Horse DataSource, not on original Blunt records. If it were based on Blunt records, it would include Nijm and Bathsheba, for example.

Well, it has to be based on DataSource, because it includes the numbers that DataSource assigned to horses registered in GSB and AHSB. If you use the actual printed books, the horses must be referenced by volume and page, because the books do not assign registration numbers.

They’ve made use of other published sources, e.g. Colin Pearson’s book probably to pick up Sheykh Obeyd foals like Wubbr.

  2. Useful, thanks Edouard!

  3. can you translate it and share it with us?
