If I were to chose one picture, I think this one would top them all.. Prince Hal (Tripoli x Dharebah), an Asil Kuhaylan al-Hayf, is just magnificent, with Charles Craver holding the bridle. [August 27 update: Thanks to AAW for this photo]

He was a lovely stallion. 🙂 Of course it helped that there was a mare band a short distance away.
I agree with you Edouard. I always loved that picture of Prince Hal. It captures that wonderful look and vitality in so many of the Davenports. Because they are so alive it is sometimes a challenge to get such great body language in a moment of pause, but it is all there, that Cartier Bresson fleeting moment. A great photo.
I saw this photo when I was age 12, just a few years after it was taken, and I thought, “That’s what an Arabian stallion should look like.” It’s what led me to the Davenport bloodline.
One time when I was staying at Upland Farm, Joyce Hampshire was out for the day and I had the chance to show Prince Hal to a farm visitor. Hal was close to 30 years old by then and to the visitor he might have looked like just an old white horse. To me of course he was every bit as wonderful as he ever was.

AAW knows whereof she speaks, since she took it! :>
Edouard,
Did Wisteria have her foal yet. I have been checking this site twice a day to find out. Blessings to the both of you.

Not yet.. Jeanne Craver tells me she sure looks heavily in foal though, so I don’t think Wisteria is pulling a trick on us!
