  1. I am guessing, but the black stallion Mary is riding in the film may well be Effrit, (born 1967) a son of Arras out of her precious mare, Khanum – see the article on Edouard’s other post for Mary’s references to that mare.

  2. Thank you both for sharing this wonderful documentary. Brings back a lot of memories being in the Middle East desert. And what a proud lady leading the group with her black stallion to gentler environment. She even brought her German Shepherd :). These horses were trained from birth to all kind of circumstances and life events. Endurance training from the start.
