Darak starts his breeding career in France

Four mares were bred to Hamdaany Darak this year. Two of mine (Danika and Jasminah) and two for Christelle Seranne who is keeping him for me, out of endurance mares. Top photo Marion Wasilewski, bottom photo Christelle Seranne.

  1. Darak has style – fingers and toes crossed for a successful debut to his breeding career with you.

As an aside, I did take another peek at his pedigree, and I was chuffed to follow the sireline and see that different strains were used to topcross with each successive generation.

    1. Yes, he is also heavy on the Jallabi bloodline. Sire, sire of dam, sire of granddam, and sire of dam’s sire are all Jallabi. This has been exception ever since the early 1970s, when all strains become eligible to provide stallions.

This decision coincides with the death in 1974 of Fatis al-Hajiri, the old master of the horses at the royal stud.

  2. Wonderful news!

I quite admire these horses but there’s something to Darak that especially catches my eye.

I hope we see more usage of Bahraini blood as it’s my personal belief they are some of the nicest Arabians I see in this day & age. Danah Al Khalifa’s horses are no exception.
