Goodbye Belle

This past weekend, Belle left with her new owner, Moira Walker, after some nine years in my ownership. She leaves two nice fillies behind. She is in foal to Jamr for a March 2023 foal. She was the sweetest of mares, especially with my children as they were growing up. Here’s to a long line of Kuhaylat al-‘Ajuz from her. Moira’s photos at her farm.

  1. I absolutely love her, not the least because of how unbelievably sweet she is. It’s been really fun to see the differences and similarities as she stands next to my Babson-Sirecho mare and my Haifiyah Davenport mare.

    1. It’s interesting how 93 percent of mostly top crossed Davenport Haifi blood in that pedigree still does not lead to a mare that looks like Haifi Davenports. The damline’s influence is still visible.

      1. No kidding, it’s extremely prepotent. She’s so much more willowy than my Haifi mare – I had thought Amala was elegant, and then we brought Belle home and Amala looks like a compact little tank on legs now.
