Photo of the Day: Popinjay, Hamdani Simri in the USA

Popinjay

This is Popinjay (Banter CF x Persimmon by Brimstone), a 1992 Hamdani Simri tracing to Schilla, and at Maria Wallis’ in Texas.  On these horses being Hamdani Simri as opposed to Saqlawi al-Abd, read here. I am trying to organize a breeding that involves him, and will tell you all about this exciting venture once it has materialized (fingers crossed).

  1. “Jay” has been a favorite of mine since I first saw him as a 4-year-old.
Will keep all my fingers & toes crossed for you!

  2. Rirst i must say thank you so much for all the time and effort you are putting into this blog. I have always had a small seed of interest in asil arabians now my small seed is sprouting and growing. I found the post about urfah and her daughters very interesting. I was very thankful my 3 year old cmk mare was from the line of sheria. Thanks

    1. That’s the kind of feedback that gets me to keep the blog, Tim, despite many other commitments. When I first came to the USA in 2000, I was amazed at how this country had managed to preserve these hidden jewels, better than many countries in the Middle East..

  3. Of the many horses we produced over the years, \Popinjay is among the best of them. He is a very masculine horse with great temperment amd a great mind. His sire, Bantar CF, and his dam,Persimmon CF were exceptional horses, and he inherited the best of everything from them. I hope you breed him to many mares as soon as possible…

  4. I have always adored the Photos of Popinjay. To me he represents what a stallion should look like, all male yet breathtaking. Our 2009 colt out of Miss Fancy Free and sired by Popinjay is more then I could have ever imagined or asked for from the pairing. Can’t wait to see what you have planned for a breeding with Popinjay, Good Luck!

  5. Hallo !
Sorry I have question ?Who prove or chek all this Asil horses. On race or Endurance.Spezialized the Character of the horse ,because the beduin prove them and this old horseman nation know that! Not every Asil is a good horse .We can not breed only on pedigree . If the grand grand father was a good horse it not must be that the grandson is good .It is good for our soul if one of our horses have Wadduda in the pedigree.but??that horse is not Wadduda .I hope you understand me.Sometimes we must dream reality .That don t mean that im not respect your dreams:-) because I have them too .A good evening for all ciao

  6. I HAVE JUST BOUGHT JAYREN THE SON OF POPINJAY . JAYREN JJ IS BEAUTIFUL AND MAJESTIC. HE IS HIGHLY INTELLIGENT. HE HAS A KIND GENTLE SOUL. HE HAS BROUGHT ALOT OF JOY TO MY FAMILY.
